In a major blow to state-sponsored Indian terror proxies, Canadian authorities have dismantled a violent international extortion network known as the "For Brothers" gang.
According to the Indian newspaper "The Times of India", seventeen suspects of Indian origin belonging to the network were arrested and charged during a major operation.
The publication reports that the gang had been systematically targeting South Asian business owners and community members in Canada and the United States.
The gang was highly active in Brampton, Mississauga, Caledon, and British Columbia, with operational links tracing as far as California. Numerous businesses were targeted for refusing to pay extortion money.
Investigations revealed that the group was involved in twenty-four separate incidents, including multiple shootings and violent attacks.
All the arrested individuals are of Indian origin, with six suspects currently facing immigration proceedings and potential deportation.
International experts argue that India's intelligence agency, RAW, directly utilizes such networks to carry out transnational terrorism and suppress dissenting voices abroad.
They assert that the "For Brothers" network is a continuation of the same Indian criminal syndicates implicated in the assassination of Hardeep Singh Nijjar in Canada and the foiled plot against Gurpatwant Singh Pannun in the United States.
