The Afghan soil, under the Taliban regime, has become a safe haven for global terrorist organizations including Al-Qaeda and Daesh.

According to the annual US Counter-Terrorism Report 2026, Afghanistan is still the largest epicenter of terrorist threats.

The report says the mastermind of the Abbey Gate attack in Afghanistan was arrested within forty-three days. Thirteen military personnel were killed in that attack.

According to experts, Pakistan's importance has increased due to its extensive experience in counter-terrorism and being the most directly affected country by terrorism.

They say the United States is now looking at Afghanistan as a mere security challenge rather than a state, which is evidence that the world is noticing the Taliban regime's support for terrorism.
