Sindh, World Bank agree to strengthen Karachi's water supply infrastructure

The Sindh government and the World Bank have agreed on an accelerated roadmap to strengthen Karachi's water supply and sanitation infrastructure.

The agreement was reached during a meeting in Karachi today between Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah and World Bank Country Director Bolormaa Amgaabazar.

The meeting reviewed the progress of the Karachi Water and Sewerage Services Improvement Project and its key implementation challenges.

Speaking on the occasion, the Chief Minister stressed that improving access to safe drinking water and modernizing Karachi's water and sewerage network are among the top priorities of the Sindh government.

He called for collective efforts to deliver lasting improvements in water supply, sanitation and public service delivery and reaffirmed the Sindh government's commitment to providing full support to ensure the success of these reforms.
