Polling for the first phase of the general elections of Azad Jammu and Kashmir Legislative Assembly was held in 13 constituencies of Mirpur Division today.

Counting of votes is now underway after polling was extended until 6:00 p.m.

The Azad Jammu and Kashmir Election Commission made elaborate arrangements for the conduct of free, fair and impartial elections.

Meanwhile, Commissioner Mirpur Division, Raja Tahir Mumtaz Khan, visited various polling stations in Mirpur.

He reviewed the polling process and overall arrangements at different polling stations.
