Indian Punjab observed 'Punjab Bandh' shutdown today to demand release of Sikh prisoners.
The shutdown was called by a coalition of Sikh religious and political organisations and was also supported by farmer groups.
Sit-ins were staged and protest marches were held in many cities, including Amritsar, Ludhiana, Mohali, Jalandhar, Hoshiarpur and Ferozepur, to express anguish over the continued detention of Sikh prisoners.
