Indian forces and agencies have intensified their crackdown, surveillance and restrictions across Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir, with raids, detentions and curbs on freedom of expression.

According to Kashmir Media Service, Indian forces and investigating agencies conducted searches at twenty-six locations in Sopore and adjoining areas of Baramulla district in fake cases registered under the draconian Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act against Jamaat-e-Islami activists.

Heavy deployments of Indian forces were made in and around the areas where the searches were carried out.

The All Parties Hurriyat Conference spokesman, Advocate Abdul Rashid Minhas, in a statement in Srinagar, appealed to the peace-loving and democratic world to stop the Indian BJP government from violating international laws and norms in the UN-recognized disputed territory of Jammu and Kashmir.

The APHC hailed Pakistan’s unequivocal and unprecedented support for the Kashmir cause, describing it as a source of strength and encouragement for the people of occupied Jammu and Kashmir.

On the other hand, the Jammu and Kashmir Civil Society Forum has expressed serious concern over rising unemployment among youth in occupied Jammu and Kashmir, calling it a pressing social and economic challenge that demands immediate attention.

Meanwhile, IIOJK Chief Minister Omar Abdullah has voiced frustration over the continued delay in restoration of statehood, saying Delhi’s failure to honour its commitment has eroded public confidence in the occupied territory.
