In Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir, the notorious Indian probe agency, the National Investigation Agency, conducted raids and searches at two locations in Islamabad district today.

NIA teams, accompanied by personnel of the Central Reserve Police Force and police, searched a complex in Bijbehara and Kreeri village in Doru.

The BJP-led Indian government has given its forces and investigative agencies a free hand to intimidate Kashmiris through arbitrary raids, searches and filing of fabricated cases.

Meanwhile, All Parties Hurriyat Conference spokesman Advocate Abdul Rashid Minhas, in a statement issued in Srinagar, expressed grave concern over the plight of Kashmiris illegally detained in jails in IIOJK and India and urged international human rights organizations to press New Delhi for their release.

He said India has imprisoned more than three thousand Kashmiris, including Hurriyat leaders, in fabricated cases.

Meanwhile, the Indian Army is converting its brigade headquarters in Kupwara district into a corps headquarters.

Army brigade depots are being established in Kandi-Kegam and Panzgam, about 15 kilometres from Kupwara town.

Residents of surrounding areas have been ordered to vacate their homes and threatened with serious consequences for resisting or raising objections. India has already deployed more than one million troops in Jammu and Kashmir to maintain its illegal military occupation.
