The All Parties Hurriyat Conference has said that India's claims of normalcy and peace in Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir are far from reality.

According to Kashmir Media Service, APHC spokesman Advocate Abdul Rashid Minhas, in a statement issued in Srinagar, said the Modi regime is projecting a false image of normalcy to mislead the international community and conceal the grim situation in the territory.

He said Kashmiris continue to face military repression, raids, cordon-and-search operations and arrests on a daily basis, while the massive deployment of troops has created a highly militarized environment and suffocating conditions for the people of Kashmir.

The APHC said New Delhi's normalcy propaganda cannot conceal its denial of the Kashmiris' right to self-determination.

Meanwhile, people staged protest demonstrations in Srinagar against a big electricity tariff hike by the Indian BJP regime in the occupied territory.

During two separate demonstrations organized by the Peoples Democratic Party and other political parties, the protesters denounced the regime for burdening people with higher bills and inflated smart-meter charges.

The Kashmir Chamber of Commerce and Industry has opposed the huge increase in power tariffs by the Modi regime, calling it a conspiracy against the Kashmiri people and the local business community.
