Rear Admiral (R) Saleem Akhtar (Defence Analyst):  Operation Dwarka or Operation SOMNATH, carried out by Pakistan navy against India in 1965 war, is a pride for whole nation because all ships of enemy were destroyed in one operation. Aim of operation was to destroy a Radar installation of Indian forces at Dwarka. Pakistan Air Force (PAF) asked Pakistan Navy to hit this radar system because India was using this radar system keep an eye on activities of PAF and Pak Navy. Moreover, moral of Indian navy was also shattered in this operation. Our naval fleet came back victorious and unhurt. Pak Navy fired 350 mortars only and destroyed all Indian naval ships stationed at Dwarka. Our Naval fleet approached as near to Indian Dwarka as of five kilometers. But Indian navy dared not to respond to Pakistan Navy. Actually, Indian navy was afraid of Pakistani submarine. Therefore, Indian navy did not dare to move their ships. Similarly, Indian navy also remained inactive in last year’s war with Pakistan. Pakistan navy waited for the movement of Indian navy but coward Indian navy made no movement. We are quite cognizant of technology and other equipment of Indian navy and we are always ready to counter them. Pakistan navy is also responsible for smooth navigation through seas and fight out challenges like piracy and others. Our faith as Muslims is the great source of inspiration and courage for our soldiers and troops.
