Analysts hail PAF for safeguarding skies of Pakistan
September 07, 2026

Air Marshal (R) Muhammad Ashfaque Ahmad (Defence Analyst): Pakistan Air Force (PAF), the defender of skies of Pakistan, is always well prepared to defend the national airspace and aerial sovereignty. PAF is very cognizant to the emerging new aerial warfare and threats like cyber security, drones, autonomous weapons and others and is already working on ways to counter these threats. Professional capabilities of our human resources; pilots, technicians and people on the ground, are excellently exemplary and their expertise, preparedness and valour is unmatchable. Our men are always in state of preparedness and readiness for future war. Therefore, PAF has always stunned the world with professional expertise and competence whenever enemy dares to test them. Our pilots, technicians and all staff undergo a very rigorous training which makes them capable of handling extra ordinary situations. Our legendary heroes M M Alam, Sarfraz Siddigui and others taught us that team work overpowers weaponry. Training, mastery and expertise are essential to excel in the world.

AVM (R) Vice Marshal Aftab Hussain (Defence Analyst):Pakistan Air Force (PAF) inherited only few fighter jets, radars and insufficient quantity of manpower from India in 1947. However, PAF fought 1965, 1971. 2025 and other wars while following the vision delivered by Quaid-i-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah during his visit to PAF Academy in 1948. PAF followed vision Father of the nation with true letter and spirit. Quaid-i-Azam said any country without air force always remains at the target of enemy therefore Pakistan should rebuild its air force earliest which must not be second to none. Afterwards our first Air Chief Asghar Khan revamped PAF with inclusion of fighter jets, radars, missiles and others. He asserted full focus on training of pilots and technicians. Just one month before 1965 war, a very disciplined and organized air force was handed over to most competent and famous aggressive fighter pilot Air Marshal Noor Khan who led first formation into the enemy area and bombed enemy’s installations. His valour raised the spirit of our fighter pilots and other staff to the highest level. PAF was fully prepared for war even five days before 1965 war. On September 7, 1965, 20 Indian fighter jets were downed and it is a world record. PAF shattered Indian designs of conquering Lahore. PAF remained victorious in last year’s war with India due to top class training, discipline and higher spirit. Now air-to-air missiles have gained very long range. Similarly cyber security and AI have gained enormous importance in modern warfare. We witnessed equally great leadership of PAF both in 1965 and even 2025 wars.
