Dr. Muhammad Khan (IR Expert):By observing Black Day on October 27 every year, Kashmiris try to remind the world and United Nations their commitments on granting right of self-determination which they made several decades ago. Kashmiris across the globe also remind the world and the United Nations that implementation of UN resolutions on Kashmir dispute is still pending. India has deprived Kashmiris of their just rights even after the passage of several decades so they are right to protest. Since the creation of United Nations, dozens of new countries emerged on the global map due to exercise of right of self-determination, but Kashmiris are denied their just right. Kashmiris want implementation of several provisions of UN charter on the resolution of Kashmir dispute as per aspirations of Kashmiris people. Indian leadership committed before the world at UNSC to hold plebiscite in Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir, but later Indian leadership backed out from the commitment sensing Kashmiris would never vote in favour of India. Indian imposed militancy and terrorism in East Pakistan in 1971 to bar Pakistan from supporting Kashmiris; however, Pakistan is still determined to extend all kind of support to Kashmiris and will remain in future too. Kashmir was never part of India as Kashmiris has been aspiring to be part of Pakistan and will join Pakistan soon.

Shamim Shawl (Hurriat Leader): Kashmiris across the globe observe October 27 as Black Day to protest against the illegal occupation of India over the Indian illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir. United Nations is the biggest international platform to resolve any dispute but UN has failed to implement resolutions on Kashmir issue. Kashmir is the flashpoint between two nuclear powers. United Nations must get resolutions on Kashmir implemented and grant right of self-determination to Kashmiris. Kashmiris have been rendering exemplary sacrifices for the sake of freedom from India since 1947. India is exerting all kinds of pressures and inflecting worst kind of tyrannies on Kashmiris to snub their freedom struggle but has badly failed to silence Kashmiris’ voice for freedom. India under heinous designs has been launching military operations against innocent Kashmiris since 1947. Now, India has finalized plans to convert Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir into a Hindu state.
