Amb. A M Shahid (Former Diplomat):Pakistan and China, the Iron Brothers, are celebrating 75 years of all-weather friendship which now has been transformed into strategic partnership with special focus on economic cooperation. China Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) is a glowing example of this strategic partnership. Under CPEC-I, a large number of energy and road infrastructure projects have been completed. Now under CPEC-II, both countries have identified around nine economic zones and these economic zones will play key role in changing economic future of Pakistan. Both Pakistan and China have stood with each other in almost every difficult and at every international platform. Both Pakistan and China are learning from each other’s expertise through close collaboration in IT, AI, engineering, education and other sectors. I think that both countries can also move forward this cooperation through people to people and youth exchange programs. Pakistan must also focus on strategic cooperation with special attention to economic collaboration with China for future economic gains.
