Dr. Gulfraz Ahmad (Energy Expert):Meeting between Minister for Petroleum Ali Pervaiz Malik and the US Chargé d'Affaires Natalie Baker is very important development because US has full control over global energy markets. The US can be very helpful in cooling down the boiling global energy markets due to Gulf and Ukraine crises. Therefore, I think that meeting is a very good development towards right direction. So Pakistan and the US energy related agreements can be very effective on meeting Pakistan’s energy needs. The US possesses huge and immense shale energy resources and can be very beneficial for Pakistan if they are brought to Pakistan. The US companies can also provide required quantities of petroleum products to Pakistan. I think that Pakistan and the US can also enhance bilateral cooperation between both the countries in energy, minerals and other sectors in the form of US investments in Pakistan in these sectors. In this regard, Pakistan needs to bring the US companies to this loop.
