Minister for Communications Abdul Aleem Khan has directed that the flood-affected bridge near Sassi Haramosh Ansar Camp on the Skardu-Gilgit Road be restored promptly to ease difficulties faced by stranded commuters and local residents.

During an emergency inspection of the damaged bridge today, the Minister ordered the deployment of additional heavy machinery and instructed operational staff to speed up repair work.

Abdul Aleem Khan commended personnel of the National Highway Authority and the Frontier Works Organisation for working round the clock under challenging conditions and expressed confidence that the Gilgit-Skardu Road would be fully restored soon.

The NHA Chairman, the Communications Secretary, the Chief Secretary of Gilgit-Baltistan and the Commissioner of Gilgit accompanied the Minister during the visit.
