The Economic Coordination Committee of the Cabinet has approved three dedicated Export Finance Subsidy Schemes aimed at enhancing the country's exports and strengthening support for exporters, particularly small and medium enterprises.

The ECC met in Islamabad today with Minister for Finance and Revenue Senator Muhammad Aurangzeb in the chair.

The Committee approved the enhancement of the EXIM-administered Export Finance Scheme, the launch of a new Long-Term Export Growth Financing Facility, and a performance-based rebate on incremental exports.

The package provides fixed low-rate financing, strengthens support for the export and import sectors, and places special emphasis on the inclusion of the SME sector.

The ECC also directed that a six-month performance report be presented to assess the outcome of the schemes.

The Committee approved a Technical Supplementary Grant of four billion rupees to meet expenses relating to multiple international arbitration proceedings initiated by independent power plant developers and major utility shareholders.

The ECC also approved the adjustment of pensioners of closed Generation Companies to their respective pension-disbursing Distribution Companies for payment of their retirement benefits.

It further approved the declaration of the Pab reservoir in the Rehman-8 ST-3 well as a tight gas reservoir under the Tight Gas (Exploration and Production) Policy, 2011.

The Committee also approved the budget estimates of the Employees' Old-Age Benefits Institution for fiscal year 2025-26 and the revised budget estimates for fiscal year 2024-25.

In addition, it approved the proposal for tariff fixation for indigenous gas supplies made to RLNG-based power plants on the SNGPL network during April, May and June 2026.
