Process for vaccination to pilgrims is continuing at Haji Camps across the country.

In an interview with Radio Pakistan Correspondent Abdul Rehman Cheema in Islamabad today, Director Hajj Islamabad Qazi Sami-ur-Rehman said over 1200 people are being vaccinated on daily basis against polio, flu and meningitis. Those above sixty-five years of age are also being vaccinated against Corona.

He said the vaccination process that started on last Monday in the federal capital would continue till the departure of last flight.

The Director Hajj emphasized that the pilgrims should get vaccination ten days before the flight. He said the entire process is being carried out as per instructions of Saudi Arabia.

Qazi Sami-ur-Rehman said around 29,000 intending pilgrims will depart from Islamabad via one hundred flights.

He asked the intending pilgrims to visit Haji camp two days before their flight for collection of documents including visa and tickets.

The Director urged Hujjaj to duly follow the Saudi laws during their stay on the holy land.

Talking to Radio Pakistan correspondent, Incharge Haji Camp Dispensary Dr Ali Hussain Shakir ruled out any side effects of the vaccination, saying it is mandatory as per Saudi instructions. He said vaccination protects pilgrims from many respiratory infections, pneumonia and meningitis.

Later, the intending pilgrims, who came to get themselves vaccinated, lauded the arrangements made by the Ministry of Religious Affairs for the facilitation of Hujjaj. They described the processes smooth and hassle free.
