The first-ever International Qirat Competition will be held from 24th to 29th of this month in Islamabad.

The competition organized under the auspices of Ministry of Religious Affairs and Interfaith Harmony will bring together nearly fifty Qaris of the international fame from the OIC member countries. So far, nominations from thirty-seven countries have been received to the Ministry of Religious Affairs.

The competition aims to promote the art of Quran recitation and strengthen interfaith and intercultural harmony among Muslim nations.

According to the schedule, all the competitions of different categories will be held in Jinnah Convention Center, Islamabad, while the prize distribution ceremony will be held on 29th of this month.

The outstanding Qaris will also participate in the provincial level Mahafil-e-Qirat in Lahore on 1st of December and Karachi on 3rd of December.

The Ministry of Religious Affairs and Interfaith Harmony has made elaborate arrangements to organize this mega event.
