Analysts hail Pakistan’s glorious role in Iran-US MoU
June 18, 2026

Amb. A M Shahid (Former Diplomat):Ian-US deal is big good news for entire world because world was at the brink of another world war, but Pakistan’s mediation and diplomacy saved the world from disastrous consequences of war. Pakistan has emerged as a global mediator and peacemaker. The deal is a win-in position for both the US and Iran. Hopefully both Iran and the US will resolve differences on petty issues in future talks. In the talks both Iran and the US followed their principled stances and positions. Therefore, President Trump gave a shut-up call to Netanyahu on peace strategy. However, it is clear that Israel is not going to shun its bad practices. I think that Iran-Pakistan gas pipeline project may also move forward because US sanctions on Iran are to be lifted. MoU between Iran and the US  has lifted Pakistan’s international stature therefore Pakistan may raise Kashmir issue on international forums.

Dr. Abdullah Gul (Defence Analyst):I think that positive outcomes of Pakistan’s peace diplomacy have started surfacing now and agreement in the meeting between Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi and British British Under-Secretary of State at the Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office, Hamish Falconer is a glaring example in this regards. Moreover, whole world is teaching Pakistan’s last year’s war strategy against India in as key subject now. Pakistan and UK have agreed on an extradition treaty which will enable Pakistan to put an iron hand on culprits present inside UK. It will be beneficial for Pakistan to get access to those elements who are defaming Pakistan on Indian and Israeli behalf and bring them to justice. Pak-UK counterterrorism cooperation will be in the interest of both the countries. UK and Pakistan can also learn from each other’s expertise in cyber, IT and other related crimes. In this regard, both Pakistan and UK move forward side-by-side because Pakistan has exemplary police and intelligence officers.
