In India, financial irregularities have surfaced at a temple in the Indian state of Uttarakhand, following the Ram Mandir corruption case.
The Modi government, which portrays itself as the architect of a so-called Hindu state, is facing growing criticism of corruption that has even tainted institutions associated with its own religion.
According to Indian publication The Wire, an investigation found that temple funds were used to host VIP guests while sixty thousand rupees were spent in the name of BJP state secretary Neha Joshi.
The publication questioned the BJP leadership for distancing itself from responsibility in the Ram Mandir case, adding that those irregularities continued despite the presence of CCTV cameras.
Indian legislator Sagarika Ghose also criticized the prime minister, saying his continued silence despite mounting criticism over the Ram Mandir case was deeply concerning.
