
Turkiye has intensified crackdown against illegal immigrants, with Afghan nationals topping the arrest list.
According to Turkiye's Directorate of Migration Management a record seventy thousand illegal migrants were detained during the first six months of this year. Those detained included nineteen thousand, five hundred and seventy-four illegal Afghan refugees while six thousand human smugglers were also arrested.
According to the UN statistics, over thirteen thousand illegal Afghan refugees were deported from Turkiye during the first five months of this year.
