All Parties Hurriyat Conference has appealedto the international community to play an effective role in settling the Kashmir dispute as per UN resolutions and aspirations of the Kashmiri people.

APHC spokesman Advocate Abdul Rashid Minhas, in a statement issued in Srinagar, said the Indian government's stubbornness is the biggest impediment to the settlement of the Kashmir dispute and to ensuring peace in the region.

He said the United Nations and the Indian government had recognized Jammu and Kashmir as a political dispute to be resolved in accordance with UN resolutions and the wishes of the people.

The spokesman said tripartite talks involving India, Pakistan, and the genuine Kashmiri leadership would pave theway forthe settlement of the lingering Kashmir dispute.

He expressed serious concern over the ongoing human rights violations, including arrests, cordon and search operations, in Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir.

Meanwhile, restrictions continued for the second consecutive day across Srinagar today as the authorities in Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir maintained a heavy military clampdown following the observance of Kashmir Martyrs' Day.

The authorities kept the gates of the Martyrs' Graveyard at Naqshband Sahib locked while Indian police and paramilitary personnel remained deployed in strength in the Nowhatta and Khwaja Bazar areas to prevent public gatherings.

Moreover, Indian forces continued intensified military operations across the territory.
