Kashmiris on both sides of the Line of Control and across the world will observe Kashmir Martyrs’ Day tomorrow [Monday] to pay tribute to the twenty-two martyrs of July 13, 1931, and all other Kashmiri martyrs.

According to Kashmir Media Service, despite threats from the Indian BJP regime and its forces, a complete shutdown will be observed in Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir tomorrow.

The call for the strike has been given by the All Parties Hurriyat Conference and is supported by all pro-freedom leaders and organizations.

The APHC has also appealed to the people to march toward the Martyrs’ Graveyard at Naqshband Sahib in Srinagar to offer Fateha for the departed souls.

On this day in 1931, troops of Dogra Maharaja killed twenty-two unarmed Kashmiris, one after another, outside Srinagar Central Jail during court proceedings against Abdul Qadeer, who had urged people to defy Dogra rule.

Meanwhile, Indian forces continued violent cordon and search operations in Shopian and Rajouri districts, severely disrupting normal life and causing immense hardship to local residents.

Indian police have arrested three publishers for including names of Hurriyat leaders in two books. The police arrested Inderpaul of Oberoi Book Service and Amardeep Singh and Girish Arora of Dominant Publishers during coordinated raids in Jammu and Delhi.

The residents, including women, staged protests in Srinagar, Sopore, and Pulwama areas against a prolonged drinking water crisis that has worsened amid the ongoing heat wave.
