The interim government of Afghanistan says food for work programme with the support of international donors is being expanded across the country.

In a statement, the deputy minister of administration and finance, Fazel Bari Fazli said, during first phase under the programme wheat is being distributed in tens of thousands of public sector workers.

Meanwhile, United States has announced that it would provide another 308 million dollars in humanitarian assistance to the people of Afghanistan.
