In Afghanistan, armed operations by resistance forces opposing the Taliban regime have intensified.

The anti-Taliban group Afghanistan United Front has claimed targeted attacks on key locations and figures in Kabul and Kandahar.

According to Afghanistan United Front a post of the Taliban special units and a centre of the Intelligence Directorate were targeted in the capital, Kabul.

In a targeted operation in central Kandahar, a key Taliban-linked figure, Mullah Sabit, was targeted. The slain Mullah Sabit was a key accountant in the Taliban's financial system and an active member of the notorious Arif Network.
