Different countries are intensifying crackdowns on illegal Afghan nationals, with a fresh wave of arrests reported in Türkiye.

According to Afghan International, Turkish authorities arrested twenty-four Afghan nationals for attempting to enter Europe illegally via Türkiye.

According to the Turkish Migration Agency, 16,436 Afghan nationals were detained during the first five months of this year for not possessing valid residence permits.

Two days earlier, Polish authorities also arrested fifteen Afghan nationals who had entered the country illegally.
