Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar held a telephonic conversation with Norwegian Foreign Minister Espen Barth Eide today.

During the conversation, the Deputy Prime Minister conveyed heartfelt condolences on behalf of President Asif Ali Zardari, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, himself and the people of Pakistan over the passing of King Harald V.

He also conveyed Pakistan's sympathies to the Royal Family and the people of Norway.

The Deputy Prime Minister informed his Norwegian counterpart that Federal Minister for Communications Abdul Aleem Khan has been nominated by the Prime Minister to represent Pakistan at the funeral procession, to be held in Oslo on the ninth of this month.

The two Foreign Ministers agreed to remain in close contact and expressed their desire to meet on the sidelines of the United Nations General Assembly.
