21 khwarij killed in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa
September 06, 2026

Security forces killed twenty-one more khwarij belonging to Indian-sponsored Fitna-Al-Khwarij in multiple engagements in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa from third to fifth of this month.

According to ISPR, following the successful engagement by security forces on the night of thirty-first August and first September along the Pakistan-Afghanistan border in North Waziristan District, ten more khwarij holed up in the area were sent to hell.

This increased the total number of khwarij attempting to infiltrate into Pakistan and effectively neutralized by security forces to twenty-five.

In another encounter in North Waziristan District, movement of another group of khwarij along the Pakistan-Afghanistan border was picked up by security forces.

Own troops effectively engaged the group, and as a result of precise and skillful engagement, seven khwarij were neutralized.

Four more khwarij were also effectively neutralized in two separate encounters in Kohat and Dera Ismail Khan Districts during joint operations.

Sanitization operations are being conducted to eliminate any other Indian-sponsored khwarij found in the area.

The ISPR said these repeated incidents along the Pakistan-Afghanistan border have once again vindicated Pakistan's persistent stance regarding the abject failure of the Afghan Taliban regime to deny the use of Afghan soil to the terrorist organization, under their patronage, for cross-border terrorism.

It said the Afghan Taliban regime has consistently failed to ensure effective border management and honour its international counter-terrorism obligations.

The Security Forces of Pakistan remain resolute and unwavering in their commitment to defend the nation's frontiers.

The ISPR said the relentless counter-terrorism campaign under the vision of "Azm-e-Istehkam," will continue at full pace to wipe out the menace of foreign-sponsored and supported terrorism from the country.

President Asif Ali Zardari and Prime Minister Mohammad Shehbaz Sharif have paid tribute to the Security Forces for successfully neutralizing terrorists of Indian-sponsored Fitna-al-Khawarij during intelligence-based and counter-terrorism operations in various districts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

In their separate statements, they appreciated the professional capabilities of the Security Forces in successfully foiling attempts by the khawarij to infiltrate Pakistan along the Pakistan-Afghanistan border.

They also expressed satisfaction over their effective and timely response against the terrorists.

The President once again urged the Afghan Interim Government to prevent the use of its territory for terrorism.

He said Pakistan's security forces remain resolute in defending the country's frontiers and eliminating the menace of terrorism.

The Prime Minister said the entire nation stands shoulder to shoulder with the Security Forces in the ongoing war against terrorism.

He reiterated that operations under the vision of "Azm-e-Istehkam" will continue with full resolve until the complete elimination of foreign-sponsored terrorism from Pakistan.
