Minister for Information and Broadcasting Attaullah Tarar has urged Pakistan Broadcasters Association (PBA) to devise a mechanism for the welfare of journalists.

In a post on X, he pointed out that TV channels receive government and private-sector advertisements and generate additional revenue through digital platforms. However, he said there is neither a fund for journalists' welfare nor a compensation package for those who die in the line of duty.
