Rahim Ullah Yousafzai (IR Expert): The recent terror attack in Kabul university is highly condemnable. There are some peace spoilers in the region who want to sabotage the Afghan peace process. Daish has lost its strength in the region and cannot carry out such activities without external support and facilitation. The new government in the United States will revise its policies regarding Afghanistan. Taliban wants complete withdrawal of US troops from Afghanistan. All the stakeholders in Afghan dispute have to make collective efforts for the success of Afghan peace talks. Pakistan has successfully conveyed its narrative to the Kabul government. It is in the best interest of Pakistan and Afghanistan to maintain good bilateral ties.
Abdullah Gul (Defense Analyst): Pakistan is moving in the right direction as for as regional politics is concerned. We have already paid enough in the war against terrorism and cannot afford further damages. The United States must ensure political stability in Afghanistan before complete withdrawal of US troops. The United States has lost its influence in the South Asian region. Pakistan is a key stakeholder in Afghan reconciliation process. The international community must compensate Pakistan for rendering matchless sacrifices for global peace. The world must support Pakistan financially. India is standing on the wrong side of history.
Syed Fakhar Imam (Federal Minister for National Food Security and Research):Indian political and military leadership is habitual of giving irresponsible statements without considering the consequences. It is the responsibility of the United Nations to hold transparent plebiscite in IIOJK. The issue of Kashmir must be resolved in accordance with the UN resolutions. The Indian troop have been martyring innocent Kashmiri people for the last seven decades and using rape as a weapon against Kashmiri women. Indian hegemonic designs are leading India towards regional isolation. Pakistan is the only Asian country which has the capacity to contain India's regional dominance. Pakistan is a responsible nuclear state and we are strong enough to give befitted response to India's misadventures. The BJP-led Indian government has taken an illegal and unconstitutional step by revoking special status of Kashmir.
Lt Gen (Retd) Asif Yaseen Malik (Defense Analyst): It was a long awaited demand of the people of Gilgit-Baltistan to give it a status of province. No decision shall be imposed on the people of Gilgit-Baltistan and every step is being taken in accordance with the will of the local population. It is not right to equate the status of Gilgit-Batistan with IIOJK. The incumbent government has not taken any step which is against the democratic values, UN resolutions and constitution.
