In Muzaffarabad, all-out arrangements are in place for the peaceful conduct of the polling process tomorrow.

Addressing a news conference in Muzaffarabad this evening, Secretary AJK Election Commission Raja Muhammad Shakeel and Senior Member Muhammad Ahsan urged the people to actively participate in the polling process to elect representatives of their choice.

They said polling is the democratic expression of opinion by the public and is the best way in which they can enable the making or amending of laws through elected representatives.

Senior Member AJK Election Commission Muhammad Ahsan said the first phase of elections in Mirpur division recorded a significant turnout of 46 percent, compared to the usual 40-42 percent.

He said there is peace and normalcy in Muzaffarabad, and the polling staff and material have started arriving at their designated polling stations.

He urged the people to actively participate in the polling process, as they did in the first phase in Mirpur.

Speaking on the occasion, Secretary AJK Election Commission Raja Muhammad Shakeel said there is no problem of law and order in Muzaffarabad, and the deployment of law enforcement agencies will remain as it was in Mirpur to ensure the peaceful conduct of elections.
