September 20, 2018

Bangladesh Parliament has passed a controversial digital security act to curb media freedom in the country.

Post and Telecommunications Minister, Mustafa Jabbar told the Parliament that the law would help fight digital crime and protect peoples' lives and assets.

Hundreds of journalists have staged demonstrations against the law in recent months across the country saying the law poses serious threats to freedom of expression and media.
