Sindh Information Minister Sharjeel Inam Memon says the pictures of children circulating on social media, showing them being under arrest in the province, are fake.

Addressing a news conference in Karachi, he said 129 Afghan women are imprisoned in jails in Sindh for illegally living in Pakistan, but the children are not under arrest.

The minister said 178 children are being kept with their mothers as the law states that children under seven years of age must be kept with their mothers.
