The Punjab Home Department has announced release of five hundred million rupees from Internal Security Fund to upgrade Civil Defence for national security.
The funds which were approved by Cabinet Committee on Law and Order will be used to procure modern equipment for Civil Defence.
The department’s spokesperson revealed that a target has been set to register one million volunteers, with training programs underway across the province for youth.
In the past five days, Civil Defence and Rescue 1122 have conducted training drills for over 118,000 individuals, focusing on emergency evacuation, firefighting, and first aid in response to attacks or accidents.
Additionally, joint training exercises between Civil Defence and Rescue 1122 are ongoing to enhance preparedness for national defence.
