Dr. Muhammad Khan (IR Expert):Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif’s visit to Bishkek to attend Shanghai Cooperation Organization Council of Heads of State Meeting is very crucial as he is holding very important meetings with world leaders on burning regional and international issues. Prime Minister has held meetings with Iranian President Dr. Masoud Pezeshkian and Uzbek President Shavkat Mirziyoyev so far and he is scheduled to hold more meetings with other world leaders during his stay in Bishkek. These meetings are very significant in the backdrop of Pakistan’s role as global mediator as Pakistan had been pursuing very active diplomacy into Mideast conflict between Iran and US. Prime Minister held talks with Iranian President and both talked to media. Both declared their meeting so fruitful and successful. Actually, in result of coercive diplomacy, Pakistan brought both Iran and US on negotiation table and win Islamabad Accord.

Amb. A M Shahid (Former Diplomat):Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) is very important regional forum with China, Russia, Iran and other key members. Therefore, Council of Heads of State Meeting is also very crucial in the background of global and regional pinching tensions and issues. Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif’s visit to Bishkek is also very important because SCO Pakistan is going to assume presidency of SCO for next one year. Moreover, on the sidelines of Council of Heads of State Meeting, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif will also be holding meetings with global leaders. I think that during this summit, Pakistan will press the other participants to play their active role to curb terrorism as Pakistan is facing worst form of terrorism sponsored by Afghanistan and India.
