Govt determined to develop CPEC to eradicate poverty: Khusro

The government is determined to develop China-Pakistan Economic Corridor to eradicate poverty, provide education to youth, and create job opportunities, and production of electricity by using local resources.

This is stated by Minister for Planning, Development and Reform Makhdoom Khusro Bakhtiar, while talking to Chinese Ambassador Yao Jing in Islamabad today.

He said Pakistan will ensure sustainable development by pursuing Chinese model of progress.

The Minister said Pakistan offers vast investment opportunities and Chinese investors should take benefit of them.

They also held detailed discussion on the strategy for next phase of CPEC to promote cooperation in agriculture, tourism, and other sectors.

The meeting also reviewed possible public private partnership in the wake of various models of investment and partnership.

Chinese Ambassador said both the governments share unanimous views to further strengthen fraternal ties between Pakistan and China. He said his government will take steps to persuade Chinese investors to invest in Pakistan. **Akram/PR**
