President Asif Ali Zardari and Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif have extended felicitations to the Pakistan Navy on the inclusion of PNS/M Hangor in its fleet.
In their separate messages, they described it as a significant milestone in strengthening Pakistan's maritime defence capabilities.
They thanked the government and people of China for their valued cooperation and said the Hangor programme reflects the enduring Pakistan-China strategic partnership.
They said PNS/M Hangor will play a vital role in safeguarding Pakistan's maritime interests and defending its maritime boundaries.
Both leaders said Pakistan remains committed to promoting peace, stability, and strategic balance in the region while strengthening its defence capabilities.
The Prime Minister said the Hangor submarine project marks a significant milestone in Pakistan's journey towards defence self-reliance.
He reiterated the government's commitment to continue to provide all possible resources to enhance the defence capabilities of Pakistan's security forces and develop capacities aligned with modern requirements.
Shehbaz Sharif also commended the Pakistan Navy, concerned engineers, and all technical experts for their professionalism upon the arrival of PNS/M Hangor in Pakistan.
