In Bangladesh, nation-wide strike is being observed today to protest the killing of people who had demonstrated against the visit of Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

According to local police, five people were killed and dozens others injured in police gunfire in Brahmanbaria district after security forces tried to quell protests.

Earlier, four people were killed on Friday after police opened fire when protesters allegedly attacked a police station in the Chittagong town.
