Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif chaired a special meeting on Specialized Healthcare and Medical Education in Lahore today.

The meeting was informed that patient numbers at major public tertiary-care hospitals in Punjab had increased by 16 per cent, with the total number of patients treated at major government hospitals exceeding 45.7 million.

Outpatient Department visits increased by 21 per cent, while inpatient admissions rose by 11 per cent and emergency patients by 9 per cent.

The meeting was also informed that more than 2.1 million parcels of cancer and cardiac medicines had been delivered to patients.
