June 27, 2026

Director, Punjab Land Records Authority (PLRA), Faisal Ahmed, says the Green Property Certificate is a landmark initiative aimed at ensuring greater transparency, security, and efficiency in land administration and property transactions across Punjab.

In an exclusive interview with Radio Pakistan correspondent Qasim Bukhari, he said the Green Property Certificate has been introduced under the Land Reforms Initiative through the Punjab Urban Land Systems Enhancement (PULSE) Project by the Punjab Land Records Authority in collaboration with the Board of Revenue.

He said the Green Property Certificate system will be implemented across Punjab from July 1 this year.

He clarified that, effective from Wednesday, all types of land and property transactions across the province will require a Green Property Certificate. He informed that the traditional "Fard Baraye Bai" and all other conventional land documents will be completely abolished.

Faisal Ahmed said that the primary objective of the Green Property Certificate is to safeguard citizens' property ownership and boundaries while eliminating fraud and forgery in land and property transactions.

He said that, for the first time in the 486-year history of the land administration system, a historic initiative has been introduced to promote transparency and ensure secure property transactions. He added that, under the dynamic leadership of Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif, the province is moving steadily towards development and prosperity.

He said that the Green Property Certificate ensures verification of both ownership and possession. Keeping public convenience in view, the government has fixed the fee for obtaining the certificate at 950 rupees.

He urged citizens to obtain the Green Property Certificate at the earliest to ensure the protection of their property rights.

The Director, PLRA, said that citizens can apply for the certificate by visiting their nearest Land Record Centre, where it will be issued after verification of records, completion of the survey process, and authentication by the Assistant Director Land Records (ADLR).
