Advisor to Federal Finance Minister Khurram Schehzad says Pakistan has made significant progress in restoring macroeconomic stability through prudent fiscal management and necessary structural reforms.
He was addressing concluding ceremony of a four-day National Tax Seminar today, jointly organized in Murree by Pakistan Tax Bar Association and the Lahore Tax Bar Association.
The Advisor outlined Pakistan's improving macroeconomic outlook, structural reform agenda, key priorities of budget for fiscal year 2026-27, and the rollout of the country's New Tax Operating Model.
He said these reforms are increasingly being recognized through positive assessments by international financial institutions, renewed access to international capital markets and growing investor confidence.
The seminar also featured technical sessions on provincial sales tax, tax policy and practical issues relating to direct and indirect taxation.
The Presidents of Pakistan Tax Bar Association and Lahore Tax Bar Association appreciated the government's continued engagement with the tax community and reaffirmed their commitment to constructive dialogue for developing a simple, transparent, technology-driven and business-friendly tax system.
