
Kashmiris on both sides of the Line of Control and world over will observe Black Day on Monday to send a powerful message to India and the international community that they vehemently reject New Delhi’s illegal occupation of their homeland.
The call for the observance of Black Day has been given by the All Parties Hurriyat Conference and is supported by various other organizations.
Posters displayed by the APHC and other pro-freedom groups, characterize October 27, 1947, as the darkest chapter in the history of Jammu and Kashmir.
It was on this day in 1947 that Indian troops invaded Jammu and Kashmir in blatant violation of the Partition Plan and occupied region against will of the Kashmiri people.
In a special message issued from Srinagar, APHC Vice Chairman Ghulam Ahmed Gulzar said Kashmiris will never accept the illegal occupation and will continue to this day as black day till they get freedom from Indian slavery.
He called on people across Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir, and Azad Jammu and Kashmir to mark the day with rallies, demonstrations and other programmes to draw international attention to longest unresolved issue under the UN Charter.
Meanwhile, Senior leader of the APHC, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq, addressing a public gathering in the Charar-e-Sharief area of Budgam district, said that peace can never be established through oppression and force. He stressed that the path to lasting peace and stability can only be paved through mutual respect, justice, and dialogue.
