In Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir, All Parties Hurriyat Conference has expressed grave concern over the continued detention of Hurriyat leaders and activists in various jails of India and the occupied territory.
In a statement, the APHC spokesman said that India is using arrests and other coercive measures to suppress the Kashmiri people, but such tactics cannot weaken their demand for the right to self-determination.
Meanwhile, Indian police arrested four Kashmiris in Islamabad and Baramulla districts on questionable charges.
The arrests come amid a wider crackdown in which properties belonging to Kashmiris are being confiscated and youth are being detained on various pretexts.
On the other hand, Indian forces continued massive cordon and search operations in different areas of Rajouri district under the prolonged military operation for the 17th consecutive day.
Indian Army personnel and paramilitary troops supported by war helicopters, drones and sniffer dogs are taking part in the operation. The prolonged military activity has severely disrupted normal life.
Political leaders and rights advocates have voiced serious concern over this growing repression, arbitrary arrests and worsening socio-economic conditions.
