In Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir, the All Parties Hurriyat Conference has demanded the release of all political leaders and activists languishing in different jails of India and the territory for many years.

APHC Spokesman Advocate Abdul Rashid Minhas, in a statement issued in Srinagar, demanded the immediate release of all detained Kashmiris, including APHC Chairman Masarat Alam Butt, Shabbir Ahmad Shah, Muhammad Yasin Malik, Aasiya Andrabi, Naheeda Nasreen, Fahmida Sufi, Nayeem Ahmad Khan, Ayaz Muhammad Akbar and human rights activist Muhammad Ahsan Untoo, among others.

He also called for a settlement of the Kashmir dispute in accordance with relevant United Nations resolutions and the aspirations of the Kashmiri people, saying this would help establish lasting peace and political and economic stability in South Asia.

He said that a negotiated settlement of the Kashmir dispute would lead to improved relations between the two neighbouring nuclear-armed countries.

The Spokesman said the Kashmiri people are rendering immense sacrifices for their right to self-determination and would continue their struggle until their goal is achieved.
