China has urged the United States and Iran to show restraint, return to Islamabad Memorandum of Understanding and revive talks to restore peace in the region.
Talking to his Iranian counterpart Abbas Araqchi in Beijing today, Chinese Foreign Minister, Wang Yi urged all parties to take effective measures to reopen the Strait of Hormuz to safeguard stability of international energy, transport and supply chains.
Wang said that China does not want to see regional tensions to spill over further into Yemen and the Red Sea.
