India's Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan has resigned, handing a major victory to youth protesters nationwide who had demanded that he quit to take responsibility for a series of exam paper leaks.

He announced his resignation on the social media platform X.

Celebrations have also been reported from various cities across India following his resignation.
