Three police personnel, including Superintendent of Police Asad Zubair Khan, have been martyred when their vehicle hit an IED in Darband area of district Hangu today.  

According to the district police officer Hangu, a police constable was also injured in the blast who was shifted to DHQ hospital Hangu.

Police have launched a search operation in the area to arrest the culprits.

Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Muhammad Sohail Afridi has strongly condemned the Hangu IED blast and sought an immediate report from the Inspector General of Police.

In a statement issued in Peshawar, the Chief Minister also convened a meeting of the Apex Committee to review the law and order situation in the province.

Terming the incident extremely tragic, he said those responsible will be brought to justice at all costs.

The Chief Minister said that the sacrifices of the martyred SP Operations and two police personnel will not go in vain.
