Chairman of the Pakistan Ulema Council Hafiz Tahir Mahmood Ashrafi has said the protection of places of worship is the prime responsibility of the government.

Talking to media representatives at Farooqabad in Sheikhupura today, he said no one will be allowed to change the legal status of any mosque, temple, gurdwara or dharamshala.

Earlier, leaders of different schools of thought and religions visited a dharamsala in Sheikhupura, whose dilapidated wall had collapsed.

On this occasion, leaders of the Sikh community thanked them for their goodwill gesture.
