Waheed Ahmed (Former Ambassador): Pakistan enjoys excellent relations with countries of Gulf Cooperation Council. Islamabad is historically, culturally and religiously linked with these countries. Pakistan’s relationship with GCC countries is very important for us economically. We have many sectors that are open to investment by GCC countries. For example, vast swathes of territory in Pakistan are lying barren and gulf countries can utilize them for agricultural production. Political and economic stability in Pakistan is important to attract more foreign investors into the country. GCC countries can also invest in oil and gas industries of Pakistan due to their rich experience in these areas.
