Minister of State for Federal Education and Professional Training, Wajiha Qamar, inaugurated the Quaid-e-Azam Corner and the Iqbal Corner at National Book Foundation in Islamabad today.

Speaking on the occasion, she said the initiative is part of the vision of Minister for Planning and Development,  Ahsan Iqbal, to commemorate the 150th birth anniversaries of Allama Muhammad Iqbal and Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah at the national level in a befitting manner.

Wajiha Qamar said the initiative is also aimed at effectively conveying the thoughts and ideals of these great leaders to the younger generation.

She emphasized that such intellectual and cultural corners play a vital role in highlighting Pakistan's national heritage, intellectual traditions, and the message of its founders.

The Minister of State for Federal Education and Professional Training commended the academic, literary, and publishing services of National Book Foundation.

She also took around the National Book Museum, the Indonesian Corner, and various departments of the National Book Foundation.

While observing the rare collections of books, ancient Quranic manuscripts, and creative works preserved in the Book Museum, she termed them an important part of Pakistan's scholarly and cultural heritage.

She also expressed keen interest in the special Qur'an section, the Sufi Corner, and exhibitions dedicated to great poets and writers.

The Minister of State appreciated NBF's efforts in promoting books and preserving intellectual heritage.

On the occasion, Managing Director National Book Foundation Dr. Kamran Jahangir gave her a detailed briefing on the new National Curriculum, expected to be implemented from March next year.
