Sahibzad Khan (Former DG PMD): Monsoon season is a blessing for u as our dams and crops depend on it. Rice is sown during this season. Our water reservoirs also depend on monsoon water. This year rains are late; however, we have good rains. Water level at our rivers has risen and increased inflows to reservoirs. We need to take precautionary measures to avert monsoon damages. We can also build water reservoirs at district and tehsil level; however, it is difficult in plain areas; but dams are more feasible in mountainous areas. However we can build ponding reservoirs in plain areas which may store water in rainy season for dry season
